Meaty thriving 2025 Ram and Ewe Lambs (along with yearling and mature ewes) for Sale with NSIP Data. Loin Scanning data coming in September for this year’s lamb crop. All Lambs born from March 2 to April 23, 2025. All Sired by NSIP Portland Prairie rams “George Washington” and “Thomas Jefferson” both RR rams, so lambs will be QR at least, if not RR. I have never had CL, foot rot, or OPP. Pictured are two market wethers taken to our July fair. They were barely 4 months and one week old. One reached his prime market weight of 126 lbs in 100 days! These two were raised on grain. The rest of the flock is raised strictly on grass in the 30-acre solar site pasture on our farm where they rotationally graze. These lambs have thrived on pastured all summer long, they haven’t had any grain in months…more profit for all of us. I had 170 Texels at our high point this year. I have around 40 ewes and 40 ram lambs to sell this fall (after their job is done “mowing” grass in the solar site) along with a few yearling and mature ewes…I can’t keep them all. Please contact me for NSIP numbers or more photos. Check out our Facebook page “Halbur’s Heavenly Hill” https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556978938130 I have been raising Texels starting with Crossbred Texels since 1993. I have been breeding for the biggest loin eyes and focusing on large rear leg muscles (where the best meat cuts are). I pay close attention to lambing ease, good mothers, and amazing growth on only GRASS! I collect A LOT of data. 2024 Data summary: My smallest loin eye scanned from my WHOLE 2024 lamb crop (57 lambs) was bigger than a few of the smallest loin eyes scanned at the National Texel Show and Sale in Sedalia in 2024. To compare my WHOLE 2024 lamb crop to British Texels, my Muscle Depth/Loin Depth is 27.14 mm where the 10-year British average depth is 28.2 mm, that’s 1.06mm (itty bitty) difference. My lambs’ fat depth was less than the British 2.6 mm versus my 1.17 mm which probably is due to my flock being grass based, so they are lean….lean growing machines on grass.

Description
We bought this ram from the WVU dispersal as a ram lamb. He\'s in NSIP and has pretty good numbers and we had him DNA tested so we know he\'s RR for scrapie resistance. He\'s very calm and well mannered for a ram. He has always been healthy and rarely has needed dewormed, even though we have a small property so the parasite pressure is high even with rotations. We don\'t feed a lot of grain so he\'s currently fat on grass and hay, but ready to breed. We have used him for the past two years so it\'s time for him to move on. He has beautiful pigmentation and a nice head as well as generally good texel conformation.
