Performance You Can See
My entire 2025 lamb crop—94 lambs—averaged a 3.29 adjusted loin eye area. The 2025 National Texel Show & Sale average was 3.01.
This isn't an apples-to-apples comparison because my lambs were raised on grass with no grain during the grazing season.
And these aren't just my best lambs. This is my whole lamb crop. 2026 scan data coming very soon.
My flock rotationally grazes a 30-acre solar site pasture. These lambs have thrived on pasture all summer and haven't had grain in months.

Genetics That Keep Working
Every Texel comes with NSIP Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs). I also track:
✓ Lambing ease
✓ Mothering ability
✓ Lamb vigor
All 109 lambs born in 2026 were sired by 2025-born ram lambs, selecting for young fertility. Five of my six rams are from NSIP flocks, and all six have lots of UK genetics.
I also DNA tested three 2026 ram lambs for the myostatin (double-muscling) gene. All three tested M/M, with two copies of the gene, meaning they will always pass at least one copy to their offspring.
More muscle. More meat. Genetics that keep working in future generations.

Biosecurity Matters
I only bring rams into my flock. Most come from closed flocks with UK genetics through Artificial Insemination. Outside rams are tested for OPP and CL and go through a lengthy quarantine.
I have used RR scrapie-resistant rams for years, and all sheep we've tested have been RR—resistant to both strain A and C scrapie.
I have never had CL, foot rot, or OPP.

Fall 2026 Availability
I had 181 Texels at my high point this year and expect to have approximately:
20–30 ewes and 25 ram lambs available for pickup in mid-September 2026.
Deposits determine selection order.
